Well, as I thought, not even a nibble at the auction on eBay for my latest Welsh Lovespoon. Even though the carving took considerable time to make and was reflected in the price at a measly $1.50 an hour at the most, it was still priced too high. I can understand that people are looking for a bargain but I’m a little reluctant to place it at such a low price and receive $25.00.
If the carvings were being done by a third party then I wouldn’t care so much at the starting price but I know what it takes to hand carve one of those puppies! With that said, I’ll guess I’ll better move on and start the next carving as I will keep this one for now. With that added experience it looks like I will stay with the main stream and concentrate on the small stuff that people seem to gravitate to. It would appear that the median price is somewhere between $10 and $15, not a fortune by any means but still satisfying.
If anyone has an opinion on this I would be interested to hear it. Or is it such an obscure subject that no one is really interested?
